    Laugh it up fuzzball

    • Maritime: If brakes sit, shit goes bad LOL
      Apr 15, 2019, 11:33:43
    • Maritime: Kamn, after I had the issue I checked my valves, 3/4 of the intakes on the bad cylinders were tight. like .001-.002 tighter than spec. Would that have been an issue?
      Apr 15, 2019, 11:37:42
    • Kamn: could have caused your mis fire issues. did you check when hot for those numbers?
      Apr 15, 2019, 11:50:50
    • Kamn: those figures are very common in this motor, being tighter than spec
      Apr 15, 2019, 11:53:12
    • Maritime: No checked stone cold. And I found out there is a ton of counterfit ngk out there on ebay and amazon so need to check that they all fail
      Apr 15, 2019, 12:24:37
    • Kamn: then that means when hot those specs will be greater, time for a valve adjustment
      Apr 15, 2019, 12:35:48
    • Maritime: I checked all and adjusted the 3 out of speck.
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:13:32
    • Maritime: I did the valves about 50K ago and had only exhaust tight and only like 3, this time they were all good and only the 3 intakes were needed to adjust
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:14:25
    • advCo: crap, I just realized when I was pushing the pistons into the caliper on the BMW i forgot to clean the pistons. hope I didnt fuck up the seals
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:14:49
    • advCo: I cleaned the whole caliper off pretty well but should've paid extra attention to the pistons
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:15:09
    • Maritime: I hope so too, were they really dirty?
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:15:25
    • Maritime: if not then the seal will puch the dirt off
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:15:40
    • Maritime: push
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:15:46
    • advCo: They weren't too bad, I sprayed the whole caliper down with brake cleaner before I did anything though
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:20:42
    • advCo: I'll pump the pistons back out and clean them off tonight.
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:21:20
    • Maritime: Good plan.
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:28:00
    • Maritime: So I checked the NGK site and there are a whole ton of fake plugs and the have a picture of one as an example that looks like the one I had destroy itself. Won't know until I get home 100% but I bet the plugs are fake
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:32:27
    • advCo: Crazy. I've ordered plugs on ebay a few times and they've always been legit.
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:41:37
    • Maritime: Me too, and the selled has like 3000+_100% positive rating so he may have been screwed by his supplier
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:47:56
    • Maritime: Thay may not be fake, just may have been unable to handle the lean condition a tight valve would produce, especially a V-Tec intake after 4000 RPM
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:49:02
    • advCo: Wouldn't a tight valve tend to be rich, valve would be open longer allowing more mix in?
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:49:47
    • Maritime: it all went south right after I set the cruise and hit a steep hill. cruise floors it and it went to 5K + for like 30 seconds to get up the steep hill, then it started acting up and flashing the CEL etc. revs came back down to 2K and it all cleared, I took cruise off but the damage was done and it just went down hill over the next few miles
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:50:35
    • Maritime: rich maybe the detonation of left over fuel could be it.
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:51:01
    • advCo: True.
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:51:19
    • advCo: Did you at least get the virago fixed? lol
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:51:25
    • Maritime: one or the other, the V-Tec opens the valves wider and longer when it kicks in and I figured that was more air, as the injectors are set to squirt the same amount of fuel
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:52:10
    • advCo: Ahh true I didn't think about that
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:52:37
    • Maritime: Oh, yep I got it buttoned up and turned over with the battery, it has compression both front and back, need to mount the front wheel, a few other bits, check oil pressure then take it out and fire it, If it starts I'm done LOL
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:53:23
    • Maritime: this is the pic of what the fake plugs do from NGK site.:
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:55:25
    • advCo: Gross
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:57:57
    • advCo: I discovered I have a junk piston for the z50.
      Apr 15, 2019, 13:58:14
    • advCo: Lol nice on the V-go. Fire it up once for 30 seconds and take a video. Then don't touch it until owner picks it up LOL
      Apr 15, 2019, 14:01:43
    • Maritime: That's the plan. It runs. here's proof, take the fucking thing and go
      Apr 15, 2019, 14:07:50
    • Maritime: looks like the piston had the last step missed when the made it.
      Apr 15, 2019, 14:08:57
    • advCo: Yep I think so
      Apr 15, 2019, 14:21:14
    • advCo: I could probably throw the OEM piston back in and call it a day lol
      Apr 15, 2019, 14:21:35
    • Kamn: fake spark plugs is a first for me and until now have never heard of that
      Apr 15, 2019, 14:28:07
    • Maritime: Guess since the real things cost over 20 ea they are making cheap knock offs and selling for a lot less. they do not have the iridium etc. just a plain spark plug dressed to look th epart
      Apr 15, 2019, 14:52:46
    • Kamn: anybody out there ever use or try a product called Quick-Glo? Its for cleaning and protecting chrome
      Apr 15, 2019, 15:19:33
    • Maritime: sounds familiar but never used it personally. Check the harely guys, the swim in chrome and know all the fast ways to clean and shine it
      Apr 15, 2019, 15:23:53
    • advCo: Nope never heard of it
      Apr 15, 2019, 15:33:21
    • Kamn: supposed to do a great job of cleaning up older chrome with rust spots.........youtube vid of Jay Leno's garage with the product and the owner of the product
      Apr 15, 2019, 15:40:14
    • Kamn: Im gonna get some to clean up the chrome and nickel on my wood cook stove
      Apr 15, 2019, 15:40:53
    • Maritime: give it a try
      Apr 15, 2019, 16:15:53
    • advCo: Shame about the Notre Dame cathedral..
      Apr 15, 2019, 16:17:00
    • teazer: That doesn't come close to describing the loss. It's not just a church or just a historic place. It's hard to put into words the enormity of loss. A sad day for the poeple of Paris and everyone else.
      Apr 15, 2019, 16:34:59
    • Kamn: Its a sad day indeed
      Apr 15, 2019, 16:44:18
    • Kamn: I do hope that they can rebuild
      Apr 15, 2019, 16:44:40
    • Kamn: I just heard that the artwork and holy relics have been saved
      Apr 15, 2019, 16:46:24
    • Tim: I'd expect it will be a relic now - Colosseum style.  Hard to imagine them coming up with the money to rebuild this, given they were struggling with the renovations.  It will still be a tourist draw.
